Anil Kumble conferred with honorary doctorate

Bangalore, July 5: Former India captain Anil Kumble was today conferred with an honorary doctorate by the University of Mysore.
Kumble was chosen by the University of Mysore for the honour last month. Kumble received the honorary doctorate from Karnataka governor HR Bharadwaj at the 93rd annual convocation in Mysore on Friday.

The former legspinner, who is currently serving as the president of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), took 619 Test wickets in 132 matches.
The 42-year-old, one of the legends of the game, also played 271 One Day Internationals, taking 337 scalps.
During this year's Indian Premier League, he was the chief mentor of Mumbai Indians. The franchise won the title defeating Chennai Super Kings in May.
