Virat Kohli on the verge breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record

Virat Kohli, generally known as run chasing machine of India , once again against newzealand in first odi showed that why he is most dependable and reliant batsman of team India. On one end, when Indian team lost a couple of wickets, it was Virat who stood by there and returned to the dressing room only after assuring that his team has crossed the finishing line. He played a splendid innings of  85* while chasing ‘not so big’ target. He finished the game in style hitting a six to seal a victory, during the course, he scored the 32nd half-century of his career but most importantly it came while chasing the total.

With this half-century, he has neared one more record held by legendary Sachin Tendulkar as now he is just 3 steps away from breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar who has scored a total of 34 half centuries while chasing the total. Virat has a tally of 32 half centuries while batting second whereas master blaster has 32. There are high chances that Virat may eclipse Tendulkar’s record in this series as we all know Virat’s ability to finish off the game in ODIs. He never ever leaves the game mid-way relying on other batsmen to finish it.
With a half-century in the last game,  Virat has now scored 37 half centuries out of which 32 have come while chasing. He has also scored 25 centuries in 172 ODI’s where master blaster scored 49 in 463 ODI’s. The way in which Kohli is moving forward, it looks like he will eclipse Sachin’s this record as well.
Surely, it will be a great day for master if Kohli breaks his record as he has himself said that he thinks that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can break his record.
India will play the second ODI of the series on October 20 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
